Hi guys, I am a beauty geek and just wanted a but if advise from a hair professional.

I am trying to grow my hair long so trying to get it in the best condition possible.

I have my hair dyed darker (roots) every 5 weeks and was wondering if my hair would be in better condition if I asked my hair dresser to use a semi on it instead of permanent?

I think yes because a semi contains less hydrogen peroxide.

But think no because I would have to put the colour every where when it fades and not just the roots.

Help! I don't want to sound stupid in front of my hair dresser!

Just ask her, she knows your hair she will respect you and probably point you in the best direction, in the meanwhile though take multi vitamins, try sea kelp this has helped a lot of my clients grow their hair and do a deep conditioning treatment once a week, argan oil based products are good as well

If you use a Quasi colour (between semi and permanent) then after applying it 3+ times, it builds up and becomes permanent, so you will find that after the 3rd full head application, you shouldn't need to take the colour all the way through to the ends each time. So I would suggest that if you don't have grey to cover, and the fact that you are going darker, then yes this would be a better option. You don't really have a need for permanent colour and you are right in saying that semis are less damaging :)
Hth xx

Thanks guys! I have my hair appointment today so I will ask my hair dresser later about a quasi colour :)

Also thanks for the supplement advise. I already take multivitamins but will have a look for the kelp tablets while I am in town today x

How did it go Zoe? What did you and your hairdresser decide on? Xx
