Hello

I used a new brand shampoo & conditioner which left my hair looking and feeling really greasy. I only used it the once and that was about a month ago. I've washed my hair about 10 times since then, using my normal shampoo & conditioner, but my hair is still feeling sticky and looking oily. My 'just washed' hair looks like it's 3 days dirty. I get married in a few weeks so I obviously want this sorted now! I've heard washing up liquid can help but also damages your hair. What can I do please? Any suggestions will be hugely appreciated. Thank you x

What shampoo did you use? And what is your normal brand?

It sounds like you need a clarifying shampoo to rid your hair of build up. Pop into a local salon and see if they can recommend one for you.

I think Tigi do a clarifying one, but I'm not sure the name of it. And Pureology is a good one to try.

Ordinarily I used L'Oreal Professionel. But as a quick, cheaper options I bought Garnier Ultimate Blends. (Never again!!)

Give the Pureology clarifying one a go. It shouldn't be too harsh on your hair.

Good luck with your wedding :)

Hello again

I'm still in need of help with this problem. I assumed that it was the new brand shampoo but I have since used a cleansing shampoo from my hairdresser, and washing up liquid. And although it helped initially but hair is starting to feel tacky and oily again.
Could it be a medical problem? If so what and how can I fix it please? 😢😢

Buffy I'm going to take a shot in the dark here. As you've tried the obvious solutions to regular problems, you may wish to see your gp, there is a mild form of fungle infection that causes the symptoms you are having.

This can leave the hair feeling like there is still some colour residue left on fromm not rinsing properly, where clearly this isn't the case.

Apple Cider vinegar may help, 1 part cider vinegar and 6 water, use it after shampooing, it's a natural fungal killer.

Your GP will probably prescribe some form of Tar shampoo which will kill the fungle infection.

Good luck, x
