Hello,

I am new here. I joined after surfing the net on a possible connection between hair products and scalp itchiness and saw a few posts here on a product "TRESemme".

This is a shampoo which I have used for the past month or so. I do have itchiness and some sweating especially lying my head on the pillow at night. The itchiness is concentrated in the lower back near the neck of the head.

I am wondering if others have shared this experience and if washing my hair with something else or even just water will get better. I did that yesterday and there is a small improvement.

I can't rule out other medical problems of course, but I thought this would be a good place to talk about hair shampoo effects.

Thanks so much:suprised:

Any product can cause a reaction. It is possible you may be sensitive to the ingrediants. You should probably stop using it & try something else. If you've only started experiencing problems since using Tresemme then if I were you, I'd stop immediately. If it continues after you stop using the products, visit your doctor for advice.

Good advice Geeky! Since this is the only shampoo-time that the effect happened, stopping it and eliminating the effect would almost definitly pin-point the caues. I think. Just what the doctor might order. Thank you.

Tresemme contains parabens and sulphates. These chemicals clog the hair root and stop the scalp from breathing. Also is your hair thicker at the back? If it is, this is probably the reason why you sweat so much at night. It could also be Hyperhidrosis, wiki it. Also it could be Seborrhoea, also wiki it. I would stop using the shampoo and conditioner. I would switch to a salon exclusive like Wella, Osmo, or Aveda (if you are a green person). Over the counter shampoos are full of chemicals that strip colour, and just coat the hair to make it ''feel'' healthier. Hope I helped. :)
