As the above goes what does all you mobile therapists do to save on stock save money with out cutting corners.and still been professional.

As you all know prices are constantly rising fuel costs go up. But sometimes I feel putting your prices up ends up punishing loyal clients I would love to know everyones hints and tips on what they do to save.

Here are a few of mine.

Eye brow / lip waxing I cut one of the cotton bud ends off and use it to wax these areas obviously use a new one each time. Buy the big cheap tubs out of the pound shop much cheaper than waxing spatulas.
When cleansing these areas I half cotton pads instead of using a full one does the same job obviously large areas I do use a full one but small areas works wonders.

Instead of couch roll when doing nails I have came across some kitchen roll which is double the size and thickness of a normal kitchen roll I put this down instead. Only costs £1.50 you get about 250 I think 2 £300 sheets.

Think this is all I can think of at the minute.

Would love to here what all you other guys do.

I use deo honeycomb waxing strips (lint free) so I cut then up and use them as wipes for nails! Much cheaper :)

Oh thats a good one too I use the large paper waxing strips and cut them down for brow waxing and lip waxing as the already cut ones are much more expensive. Thanks for that 1.

Can u just buy them from wholesaler?

Why don't you just go mc d's for their coffee stirers? Work great for waxing eyebrows and they're free...my friend got me a load once when he went out - he was obviously drunk and cracked me up!!! x

Let's not go to McDonalds for coffee stirrers, buy them brand new instead from your local Makro/etc where they haven't been sneezed on/touched with pooey hands

The thought is there but again for health and safety and cross contamination you dont know who has touched them. If they have been dropped on the floor and put back In.

Cotton buds work wonders with the ends cut off :).

Mac D's coffee stirrers! Made me laugh!

Seriously, a box of spatulas is dirt cheap any way, I just snap them in half long ways, perfect for brows.

I find the best way to save pennies is by being organised. I group clients by area and treatments wherever possible, this saves me money on fuel, and time loading and unloading all the different treatments every day!

I use some of the more expensive brands (cnd & perron rigot) but as with everything, correct application etc saves any wastage.

Im a bit ocd with my stock, I keep a strict stock list, and this enables to me just place bulk buy orders every 2-3 months. I shop around for consumables, order from whoever works out cheapest overall at that time, and only ever place orders on VAT free days (with the exception of cnd) and ensuring I meet the free delivery quota.

Profbeau, how do you do your stock list if you don't mind me asking? I'm OCD too & would love to know!

Prepare to join the "saddo" gang! I have a little notebook that started the day my business did. Each month I have a page where I write down exactly what stock I have in, eg couch roll x 2 full 1 x part used, Roller cartridge x 6 full etc. I then have another page which lists how much was used each day eg couch roll x 20 sheets, roller x 1, Vinylux gotcha 1 set.

Confused yet?

Over time I have learnt roughly how much I get from each item/product. So at the end of each month I'm able to guesstimate (quite accurately nowadays) what I have used.

Basically this enables me to re order the correct amounts each time, to ensure I have enough for even the stupidly busy months, but without buying what I don't need, so no wasted spending!

Its quite addictive, very sad, but gives me something to do in an evening when kids are in bed & husbands watching his little crime dramas!

I get nappy bags from Morrisons - 100 for 12p - for all the rubbish in :)

Im not mobile but to not waste stuff i

- Split couch roll and stock up on it when its on offer
- split spatulas for eb and lip
- cut or split cotton wool for nails, facials etc
- get organised every morning for my day so that i on,y have out what i need and am not wasting time setting up etc
- bulk buy liquid solution as they cheaper snd decant into smaller bottles
- always have a spare of popular products in cupboard so no last minute panick ordering and unnessary delivery charges
- go to beauty shows so that i can trial products there without having to order things to trial

I use deo honeycomb waxing strips (lint free) so I cut then up and use them as wipes for nails! Much cheaper :)

And no annoying lint from supposedly lint free wipes!
