Did a set of shellac yesterday it was really hot in the salon
I extended some shorter nails with acrylic and then applied shellac
I then went on to do her toes and she mentioned the hand with the acrylic on underneath was clicking
I thought she meant as she knocked her nails together she meant she could hear them clicking
But she then kept on about it
I had a look and sure enough her nail " clicked" without her doing anything
She said they are all doing it!!
It was really strange
It stopped after a while but was very audible
Has anyone else had this happen?
I said it was probably due to the heat as when I was applying the shellac it was dragging slightly as it seemed to be setting as I was applying

Never heard of this! How odd!

Not sure I understand correctly what you are trying to describe. How did her nails click? Like you could push them on the nail bed and you could see them click to stay there?
Could it be something like improper curing?

Ive never heard of this! Im interested to hear peoples reply's xx

No her nails weren't being pushed or touched at the time just had them in the air looking at them
Very audible clicks I imagine it must have something to do with the heat of the day and that she had l and p on underneath the shellac
The shellac was cured properly in the new cnd lamp and the nails were fine looking
Nor did the lady complain if an exothermic reaction
Just bizarre!!!!!
Another way of putting it was as if the nails " popped"
But the sound was definitely a " click!"

Wowsers

Perhaps it was the l&p underneath that was slowly reacting? Anyway I've never heard of it or seen anything similar. Closest I can imagine or remember was acrylic extensions not have set properly and doing a similar noise before snaping, but that was days after the application, not immediately

Definitely sounds like the shellac is reacting to the I and P underneath, has she them taken off, you would hate for something going on that may eat into the acrylic and through to her own nails.

????

The shellac sounds like it's reacting to something so it could be dissolving something underneath that you can't see on the surface
No
I think that is very unlikely
It was most probably the heat on the day
She came back 3 weeks later I removed and reapplied shellac and all was fine!
She has been back a couple more times and all is fine

Mine sometimes click when I've had acrylics on when the glue has been pushed down by the tips, it must be from where it's slightly down the side of the nail on the skin...only thing I can think of that's sounds similar xx
