Hi everyone. I've never posted on salongeek before so apologies if I post in the wrong place or anything like that. I've had a look through some posts but couldn't find the answers I was looking for.
I've been trying to layer shellac on some nail pop sticks to see what colours I can make and used Pinterest for ideas. One of my questions is though, how many layers of each colour. As I imagine too many layers will not look good. The few kinds that I've tried the colour I put on the top just makes the nail the top colour and doesn't mix the two, does that make sense?
I've been doing Shellac since January after a good few years break from doing nails.

One layer of each and not all colours work together. Generally a lighter colour on top changes the base colour. Some changes are very subtle. Some are completely new and different.

Perhaps these will help get you started

Thank you for your replies. I think with a lot of them it just kinda looks unfisnished because you can see brush strokes because there's for example one coat of light on a darker colour. Xx

Sometimes it works best if you do 2 coats of your darker colour followed by one coat of a SEMI-SHEER e.g. decadence or nordic lights
One of my favorites is Tinted love x2 + Nordic lights x1... a beautiful burgundy with holographic sparkle!
