Hi

I am stuck!! I am currently trained in the following:

Acylic nails (which I hate doing - but it was my first course!!)
Manicure/Pedicure
Waxing
Spray Tan

I work full time during the day (not within the beauty industry) and I want to be based from home offering the above treatments. However I have read posts on here and not sure whether to invest in Shellac nails as I absolutely love them and would love to offer this treatment but I have also completed the Tantrick spray tan course, again great course and again it would be a treatment I know I will enjoy providing.

I am just stuck with what to invest in epecially now I know that Shellac nails is so popular and I have been given the money to do the shellac training course. So what I am asking is...! Shall I invest in Shellac nails equipment or spray tan equipment, what will give me the best return?

A salon has opened near me offering Shellac and spray tans and lots of fancy facials/massage etc. Lots of spray tanners near me offering them for £10 Grrrhh!! so ermm help please. I will stop waffling now.

Thanks Peeps xx

P.S Do any of you know who is the trainer in Bristol? I actually live in Portishead nr Bristol.

Shellac has given me so much business I would definitely invest in this 100 percent

Hi,

I currently offer spray tanning (as well as a wide range of other beauty treatments) and it is one of my most popular treatments. It's quick to do and the profit margin is pretty good if your price is right. Spray tans at £10 is ridiculous though!

I am planning on investing in Shellac in the very near future as I too have seen so many good reviews on here.

Both are a good investment, do you have a client base already that you could ask which they would be more interested in?

I would absolutely, 100% invest in Shellac.

My opinion is buy your tanning equipment first, then save every penny from tanning & then do your shellac.
that's how I've done it.
Did my tanning in November & I'm doing my shellac in the new year using the money from my tanning, hth x

Thank you ladies, most appreciated :o) I will still do Shellac but the problem is I don't have a client base as I thought it best to train up first then start advertising after Christmas. But will see if I can get my tanning equipment as well...thanks again xx

Out of spray tanning and shellac I do more Shellac. Client's are coming back every 2 weeks to have shellac removed and reapply. I personally would go with shellac first. Spray tanning client's only have it for special occasion's.

I found with shellac I made my money back quicker with. I have had some leaflet's printer ready for January that is promoting shellac, it's a good way to build a client base is doing a leaflet drop.

hey hun

personally I'd book shellac training and buy shellac equipment, your investment is paid back quickly. I completed my tantrick training, bought my kit then did my manicure and shellac training. Month or so later sold my kit to buy more shellac, book on to pedicure course and bought minx too. Not the most sensible thing for me to do money wise as i obviously lost money on my spray tan kit but completely sensible in investing more money in shellac. You can always buy all your shellac equipment, get going with that and by the time spring/summer comes invest in your spray tan kit with your shellac profits.

Shellac is fabulous, you'll love it! X x x

Hi Guys

Can someone please let me know what the opening order or start up cost is for shellac?

Thanks

Oooohh exciting stuff. I will give Natalie a ring. I want to do Shellac. I have opened an account finally with CND but haven't looked at all the actual costs but hopefully it will be worthwhile. I have had Shellac as a client myself and absolutely love it, I can't stand wearing normal nail varnish now lol.

I am grateful for all your advice and I will still invest in both because by all your advice both will give a generous return...but just so tempted to go with Shellac first, thank you to Rhiannon and Mrs C I have taken your tanning choices into account as well promise.... I'm so indecisive but I have taken note! xxxx
