I am a esthetician and have been considering adding shellac or mani q to my services. There are pros and cons for both and I just can't seem to make up my mind which product is the best for me.
I know with Shellac you must use their light to cure, is this the same for mani q? I can't seem to find much info or reviews about that.
Also, what is the difference between the two? Is the only difference that shellac is a polish hybrid (doesn't that mean gel and polish mixed?) and mani q is a soakable gel??
Is mani q hard to remove? I have read mixed things about that. Some say it is hard others say no....?
I would really appreciate your views on whether you think shellac or mani q is best. Thank you in advance!

Both SHellac and mani q are soak off. To be honest I dont know that many people that use Mani-q, that doesnt mean it is not good its just not as popular as some of the other brands. I would say the main competitotrs are Shellac and Gelish. I personally use Gelish but I know that are equally as popular I would say. Shellac you need to purchase a specific lamp and Gelish can be used with any 36W UV lamp. I find Gelish very good, at least 21 days wear and very easy to apply and remove. You will find advocates for both Shellac and Gelish though, as well as other brands! It is all down to personal preference and what you are looking for the polish to do. I chose Gelish as many of my clients prefer natural manicures and it is very good for building strenth whilst the polish is on.
Best thing to do is research a few different brands and ring up the distributors and have a chat with them. Often they have workshops that you will be able to go and view the products being used and how to apply.
Good luck
xx

Hi i use Jessica Geleration at work which is really good but bought in Ezflow Gelez to use on my own clients at home. Have to say I was really disappointed in Gelez, i find it very tempermental!

However ive just received training by young nails in Mani q at my Nail diploma class and love it!! gelez has been listed on ebay and mani q will be purchased very soon :)
