hi geeks:)

If you dont mind me asking what kind of money did you pay for your shop signs, i have been qouted £1000 from one company and £600 from another:eek:

is this cheap or am i being taken for a ride???

thanks in advance
Danielle:hug:

i paid just over £200 inc VAT and £80 for fitting. the sign was black with pink writing. suppose it depends on the size and type, is it a light box?

a cheaper way of doing it is to have vinyl lettering in the window itself.

that does sould very expensive, shop around a bit more.

for vinyl lettering one firm quoted me £220 and another quoted me £75.

My shop signs are:

£110 for an A board with vinyl lettering so it can be changed

£220 for vinyl lettering for the windows, and they are 3 large windows plus the window in the door

£165 for a light box (reconditioned).

I work in a hairdressers, so they have the actual shop front sign so I dont know how much that might be

I looked around and those were good prices for my area and are inclusive of VAT

If it is the traditional large shop sign that you're looking for that you see in the high street, unless it is a very tiny front of store, then those prices look about what I would always budget for. I've been quoted everything from 800 - 1500 in the past for a full coloured sign or metal letter sign.

If you don't have that kind of cashflow just now, then as the other girls have mentioned, having the name professionally done in the window can be done quite nicely and they look quite professional.

It's all about what your budget is for signage really. It's one of those things that you don't want to spend money on, because you have such a long list of other things to buy.

Also, A boards are much cheaper and really do catch peoples eye when they're walking down the street.

If you are stuck for money but want a sign up there above your shop to put you on until you can afford the real deal,
why not have a PVC banner made to go where your sign would go just for the time been, you can get these made up from around £30 if you shop around,
if you want logos on it ask when you make the enquiry if they have done a sign in the past with say CND logo on it,
this way you save a fortune on set up fees hth

my sign above my shop full length and about 2foot high it cost under £200 no where near as much as others have said, so have a good look around i did.

Same here.....my sign sounds similar to Carla's,I also had lettering and some stripes on the windows and it came to around £320.00 inc vat and fitting.
That does sound quite expensive Danielle.
