Should I prelighten

I have a client who wants a red ombré with darker red roots to cover grey and brighter reds on the ends ? The ends are darker so will I need to bleach up ends to lighten base ?

Yes unless you're using wella magma /44 for the brighter red. Tint won't lift through that colour on the ends.
