I've just popped down from Hair, I'm in a quandary with my face.
I had a dermilogica calming facial a while ago, but.clearly to strong for my skin. Broke out in dry patches on each side of my face.

I've tried mild OTC moisturisers, and high end, but then get little spots around the nose and jaw areas. Products I've tried either dry my skin or break me out in little spots :-( even extra virgin coconut oil and olive oil now creates spots *sighs*

Soooo I'm.assuming.I need something for combernation skin?

Any suggestions please lovelies because it's doing my head in now. I don't mind spending the money if is going to work. But begrudge spending it, if the tub just sits on my dressing table.collecting dust - if that makes sense

You know what I'm going to say!

Most otc products will sit on your skin and feel nice. They may make your skin look a bit better but they're not going to make any fundamental changes to your skin.

What skin care and make up products are you currently using?

Vic x

I fully agree vic on OTC products, I was just trying anything to hydrate my skin that wouldn't cause pimples under the skin, I've never been spotty lol.

After the facial I used the sachets for a week, no joy, dry breakouts.
I then ordered Stemoligica full routine kit, that was £75 down the pan, pimple Break out again.

Tried Kaeso as it's All natural, same problem

Stopped using everything, pimples all gone but face dry again, on went virgin coconut oil, perfect for a week, pimple outbreak again.

Tiny amount of virgin olive oil....history repeating...

Back to using nothing again :-( everything either drys it out totally leaving yukky dry bits or pimples

...and I drink enough water to put Anglian water out of business, if I drink anymore I think I'll drown lol

So are you currently using any skincare or make up?

I love Spa find... great for dry / combination skin. everyone I have used it on purchases. I use myself also. :)

None Vic, only eyeliner and lipstick. It's really doingy head in now, I found foundation emphasised the pimples or dryness so left it well alone :#(

I'll Google that thank you Michelle

How long do you use the products for when you get them? A week? Two weeks etc? Its really important when you go from nothing or OTC products to allow your skin time to get used to active ingredients in professional skin care lines. Your skin goes through what's called an acid mantle reaction. This just means that your skin is trying to adjust itself to the new products. This "reaction" can cause breakouts and I suspect this is what is happening to your skin. You really need to give your skin 3-4weeks to adjust, sometimes a bit longer depending on the actives in the skin care line. It takes a lot of patience but the results of a good professional skin care line are worth it as they last long term

Thank you Jen, I give it until it breaks out, normally a week. Then stop using it. I just assumed it was.either.to strong for my skin or not the right product.

Facial creams are a total minefield with so many ingredients claiming this that and the other.

What would you.suggest please? And.do whoever do samples to try for month?

I'll pm you x

Thank you Vic, replied :)
