Help a hairdresser out!

Hi guys was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice on skincare brands, I don't know much about professional ones but I can't really afford Dermalogica or Liz Earle etc. Do sallies or capital sell any cheapish ones that you can buy in bulk?

I have very oily acne prone teenage skin and it's really starting to affect my confidence, whenever I see myself in pictures I roll my eyes. No word of a lie, a few hours after starting work after washing my face in the morning my face is like a chip pan and you can see your reflection on my forehead:evil:

In the past I've used freederm, simple, dermalogica for abit, and my friend works in body shop so I've thought about trying some of their stuff but I don't really know what it's like.

At the moment I tend to wash at least every morning, at night sometimes when I can be bothered and then pat it dry and smother with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide which helps with my acne but I need something to take the oiliness away. I tend to shy away from moisturiser because it makes it even more oily even lightweight ones but then everyone says its bad because you're stripping the oil and not replacing it.

I would just love some advice from a professional because at the moment I'm seriously considering paying to go and see a derm privately to get accutane or something. I've had enough of being pizza face!

Frankie face fix by Tibby Olivier is producing great results on acne
It's a light oil, but strangely enough combats oily skin.
It's helped about 6 girls that I've recommended it to

Truthfully you will get what you pay for, Dermalogica have skin kits that are a 30 day supply at £26, that includes everything you need for a full skincare regime, if you have oily shine/with acne breakouts use the oily skin kit. For a professional brand that works sometimes you have to invest in your skin x

Used dermalogica clear range or whatever for teenage skin the 30 day kit went and had a proper consultation and analysis at one of their booth things in the Bentalls center in Kingston, was really annoyed thought I was gonna have nice matte acne free skin but no

Are you experiencing acne or just oily skin? Are you under 21? I'm just trying to understand why you were prescribed clear start range for breakout prone skin for teens? You cannot expect to purchase a 30 day kit and it solve your skin concerns in 30 days, for a product to be effective (any brand) you need to use it for at least 4/6 weeks to start seeing results, and continue with a product to manage your skin concern. If you weren't happy with your prescribed product from Dermalogica then you should contact Dermalogica & let them know they would have issued either an exchange or money back guarantee - in the UK not sure where you are based. It sounds like you now dislike Dermalogica because of the above so I will guess anything I suggest will fall on deaf ears since i am a Dermalogica stockist & therapist. You do need to revisit either a skin specialist or equivalent as it's hard to suggest skincare to someone without seeing their skin.

I've just re read your post, I'm guessing you are young in your teen years (doh!) so that's why you've been prescribed the clear start. Clearly it wasn't enough for you, if you still have the kit or any of it left take it back to where you purchased it & have them face map your skin again, you may need a professional treatment once every 4/6 weeks to help with home care products. Hope you resolve your issue.

Hey, I am 27 and only just started experiencing acne.. Nightmare! But I am currently waiting for a product called "Silver Serum"
Google it and the reviews and changes in people's skin with acne is amazing. It has recently been in the daily mail for its results.
It is currently out of stock but due to get it back in around 16th Feb.
Think I paid around £13.
Maybe have a think about trying that.
Donna.

I wasn't impressed with the clear start kit because the lady said it would make my skin matte(r) and less oily which it did NOT you could still grease a baking tray with my forehead
