Anybody else go to slimming world?

After having my baby last week I'm rejoining tonight!

Anybody got any recipes worth trying?

X

If you use Facebook search diet momma, it's a page with loads of meal ideas all sw based

I re joined last week, so having my first weigh in tonight after starting on the diet again. Have been going to the gym too so hoping for a good loss tonight. Hope you are doing well with it. I've got loads of good recipe's so when I've got a bit of time later I'll post them on here for you

My eldest daughter and I are starting next Wednesday. Panicking about the first weigh in lol.

Good luck to you all. I'm nervous first time back since last year.

I wish I could exercise too but I have to wait 6 weeks according to midwife

I definitely recommend whisking muller light into quark with a bit of sweetener and having it with fruit. Makes a gorgeously filling and tasty dessert, packed full of protein and calcium to name but a couple. Keeps you full and happy for ages!

What is quark? I keep seeing it pop up!xx

It's a type of very, very low fat soft cheese and it's used a lot on the continent. You can cook with it and turn it into delicious desserts and savoury sauces for pasta etc. It has very little taste of its own, so needs flavouring up. I use it a lot, as it's packed full of protein and keeps you fuller for longer.

Can I have the receipe for the cake - I rejoined on wednesday and love cake! Thank you

Oh wow....

Where do you find it in the supermarket?

I NEED to join slimming world!!!x

Half syn cake
4 eggs
1 tub quark
1tsp baking powder
5 tbsp sweetener
Half tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp fat free fromage frais
Fruit to decorate

Preheat oven to 180 and line 2 sandwich tins.
Whisk the egg whites until soft peaks.
In another bowl whisk egg yolks, 4 tbsp sweetener, half the quark, baking powder and vanilla extract. Then whisk in half the egg whites.
Fold in remaining egg whites with a metal spoon.
Divide the mixture between the 2 tins an bake for approx 20 mins.
Use the rest of the quark and mix 1 tbsp sweetener and fromage frais together and put in middle and on top of cake and decorate with fruit.

The cake will rise in the oven but once out will totally flatten lol

Here's a picture of a slice I have left lol

I use vanilla muller light instead of fromage frais

I'm going to try a syn free flan tommorrow. If it works I'll post the recipe x

I'm a huge fan of Slimming World - joined in May and so far lost 1 stone 10.5 pounds. I'm 3.5 pounds from target and it's honestly the best thing I've ever done! I feel better than I've ever felt.

I'm not much of a cook and I eat very plain foods (and I'm on the Green plan) but my all time fave pudding is chopped banana with toffee Mullerlight yoghurt on - doesn't sound much but it's delicious!

Good luck with it - you'll get good weeks and bad weeks but it's all totally worth it :)

Thanks hun, I'm finding it great - I snack on babybell lights (3=healthy extra) velvet crunch (4 syns) walkers french fries (4 syns) activia snackpot 0% fat free yogurts (free) strawberries (superfree - sometimes melt a freddo bar for 5 syns and dip strawberries in it) boiled eggs (free) Hifi bars (healthy extra) curly wurlys (6 syns) minimilk ice lollies ( 1 syn each) plus lots of fruit like pineapple/watermelon/apple..i chop my fruit up the night before and keep it in an airtight container in the fridge as i don't have time to prepare it in between clients, I just pop in the kitchen between clients and grab whatever i made the night before lol i eat bloody loads, never had so much food in all my life! I also drink a lot of flavoured water which is free as long as it's sugarfree - I lost another 3.5 pounds this week :green: xx
