Spray tanning, how soon to re-apply?

hi, i was wondering if someone could give me some advice?
i have a professional earlex hv5008 spray tanner and i am using Bahamas 9%, i love the colour etc. however i find the tan fades quite blotchy, now what i would like to know is.... do i have to wait until all the spray tan is off my skin or can i keep topping it up every 5 days or so. Would it be ok or would it just look terrible? any advice would be much appreciated.

I sometimes top mine up but you need to very careful for build up for me I get it on my neck and elbows, it's best to try exfoliate it off so it's more even prior to another tan but then I suppose it's all down to how blotchy it's going, if it's very bad I wouldn't risk it, I would rather it be off for me to then have a smooth even tan than one that's pigmented in more areas x
