Star Nails resin - adhesion problems!

Hey ladies, I just started experimenting with gems and I bought the Star Nail Resin since I heard it works really well - however all my gems keep popping right off soon after application. I've tried using the resin sparingly, as well as in excess - I've tried pushing down on the gems and not pushing much at all. What is the secret to get these damn things to STICK?! Plz help

Give the nail a light buff where you're applying the gem. Apply it then apply your top coat around it and it should be firmly stuck
