:p HI all
I am planning to start my own home based eyebrow threading business from home as I can no more go work outside as i recently had my first baby.

I live in a one bed flat, in 6th floor in a town centre.

could you please advice me on these following :

1. as this is a simple business and a small scale one do i need to register and have an accountant?
2.can i do this as im in an apartment?
3.I have more than 3 years experience and am very much expertised in this but i dont have certification. does that matters?

3.I dont think parking would be a problem as its in town centre!

4. is there anything else needs to be considered?

if so please suggest me!

thanks

1. You need to register as self employed with HMRC regardless of how much or how little you earn. You don't have to have an accountant.
2. Working from home may affect your home insurance/mortgage/may or may not be allowed by whoever you rent from.
3. You need to have a certificate in order to get insurance to practice and to make sure you know the correct hygiene procedures to protect yourself and your clients.
4. I'm not sure how much business you will get in a 6th floor flat (do you have a lift?) and just for eyebrow threading but I hope to hear you are successful.

Good luck

Do a search on this site for 'threading training' and if nothing comes up post a new thread on here asking for recommendations for trainers in your area. Even if you have experience you will need to take a recognised course (recognised by your future insurer).
