I really want to offer Minx this coming Spring .... I have dabbled with Minx and foils on my daughters and they last brilliantly so a question I would have would be whether to do the course or just carry on what I've done on them? As far as I'm aware the course isn't a necessity but put me right if it is!

Looking through the catalogue there's a black lamp and a white..... I usually do client's feet with me grovelling round on a towel, I have no couch etc as I only do nails, so if I'm shellacking or gel toeing I tend to just drop to my knees . . . in which case, how will I manage a clip on lamp? Will it stand on its own? Or could I clip it to my trolley? I'm thinking the black one looks great and if I leave it out people might ask what it's for??!?

Which of the proper Minx tools are necessary to make application easier? (When I've done my daughters' I just use scisssors, orange stick, tweezers, hairdryer and a file but have never Minxed clients at all and certainly wouldn't do them with the hairdryer!)

Another question..... which are favourite designs? Any perennial favourites?

Lastly timewise, how long should a set of Minx take?

sorry for all the questions - I'm going invest in Minx as I really am a nail freak and not interested in anything else! lol

Lamp wise- any infrared is fine. You dont need to buy the minx one.

I love minx but kooky is good to xx

Also u can get a standing lamp. Tool wise all I use os scissors hoof stick file and cuticle implements x

I take 20-30 mins to apply a set of minx dependong on the clients nails but if your new to it give yourself 45 minutes xxx

They have discontinued the black lamp. If you check on the S2 website they now have a smaller white lamp. I would call S2 and talk to them.

Ah ok, my catalogue is not the latest but only a few months old I think, but obviously out of date!

What a shame, that black one looked the business!

I use the white lamp for minx.

It's quite big, but because it's jointed at parts, you can bend it around which is good. You can screw it onto a table (just not a tiny one as the weight of the lamp pulls it over!) or you can buy a base for the lamp so it doesn't need to be screwed onto an object by its vice.

I did a Minx course, as it was free when you bought the kit. I'm not sure that I really learned anything from the course that improved my application of the product, as we didn't get to do any practical as we ran out of time. It was good for learning the do's and dont's of Minx though.
For improving application, it's all about practise. All my mates were minxed while I was practising!
