Starting out-which colours to start with?

Hi,
I'm just starting out and doing my training and was wondering which colours are best to get first, to start building up my collection?

What medium? Acrylic, Gel Polish or normal polish?

Acrylic - white, clear, clear pink and a cover/opaque pink
Gel Polish/polish - white, french pink, red, dark pink, black, purple, and anything that takes your fancy! No matter how many colours you have a client will always want one you haven't got!
