Starting up in nail business

Hi

Please can I ask those experienced nail techs about when you started up business? I am finding it so hard because I have a lot of clients who are very happy and their gel polish nails and they last 2-3 weeks no chips etc and then others chip or they have had problems after several days. I am doing my at most to research and get better at my application but have noticed a big difference between colours and thickness etc. Is it just a teething period whilst I learn about thickness/application and do some people just not get along with gels? Please help! I am feeling a bit low, it seems to be highs one minute and lows another :-(

Hi Hun, I'm in the process of restarting my business I had going in 2013 but unfortunately had to give up.
In my experience, some people just don't get on with gels. I'm one of them, literally I'd apply gel on my clients all day, their nails would last 2-3 weeks. Then I'd decide to do my own one evening and the next morning most of the gel nails somehow came off over night! So I always have to have acrylics, myself.
I'm taking extra training courses in different brands of gel in hope I can find a solution, so there is a gel to suit every body.
