Sterilization/disinfectant?

Hi everyone; i started my own home based biz and i want to know what is the way and cost effective way to sterilize and or disinfect the nail tools. is there a way to sterilize nail files? i know about barbicide and the uv machines but those cost a lot. Any help would be great.

Hey!

For files and buffers you will need to get the file disinfectant spray. I use the one from mundo.

To steralise I have bought the glass bead steraliser which takes around 10 mins to heat up and after I have washed my tools with soap I pop it in there for about 15-20 seconds.

I'm between clients you can use barbicide/mundo liquid and pop your tools in there but rinse them first and pop them in there. I use mundo and I can use the tools within a few mins according to their instructions.

Only non porous items can be disinfected. Files and buffers should be single use. Metal implements should be washed dried and disinfected with hospital grade disinfectant for 10 min after each use.

So I usually wash by hand and then add the metal tools in mundo fluid in between clients. After the last client I repeat the above and finally add the the steraliser but if I just have one client I wash by hand soap and then add to the steraliser.

Also barbicide and mundo are not the same thing. Different companies but they do the same thing

Anyways, the disinfect is not expensive at all and you need to buy if you are to remain in business. You'll need those glass jars and a bottle of barbicide. Read and follow all instructions on the bottle. Easy.

Btw, you are not sterilizing; you are disinfecting and sanitizing. Wash and scrub the tools with soap(sanitizing) and then place the tools in the properly mixed barbicide for 10 mins. That is all that is required for all tools.

Hello that's what I have said above except that I do steralise and sanitize. As long as you are steralising at the end of the day that's fine. Mundo liquid can be used up to 5 days so once steralised at the end of the day you can keep it in the same mundo liquid up to 5 days. I spoke to mundo about this over the phone and also found info on salongeek

No I use a glassbead steraliser. You should never keep ur tools in the Solution for 5 days. You should always take it out after about 10 mins. (Read the instructions of the solution) you can however keep the same solution for 5 days and reuse it.
