Hiya,

I'm by far no hair geek but am looking for a bit of a point in the right direction.

I've been searching the net for a hairstyle for a formal function.

I have been thinking along the lines of a bun to the side but my hair is very fine and the bun looks small and naff...haha

Would putting a few of my hair extensions in help this dilema? And couls anyone help me regarding a website with step by step on?

Any help would be fab

If your doing it yourself ... Try putting your extensions in a bun before putting in your hair, ponytail your hair to the side, wrap the loose hair tightly away then clip the ready made bun over your hair that's knotted, making sure there's no bobble or bits showing. There's loads of tips in the latest glossy mags at the mo, with it being the party season ;) huh x

have you tried a bun ring thats what i use and it gives you a lovely big bun with minimal effort! x

balmain hair extension do an eligance range of hair pieces so u might find a pre made bun that u jus have to clip in to ur hair.. x

If I were you, I would get some clip-in extentions and literally just play around with your hair. When I do clients hair I stick to "rules" and what they have asked for unless they ask me to do what I think but when it is my own I just make it up as I go along.

Once you have your clip in's in, start from the top and work your way down kirby gripping your hair up as you go. I love messy up do's the most (where it looks like there was no effort put in). Remember to back comb and tease the hair on the top and if you hair is fine brush it into a smooth stlye very lightly.

Just have fun with it, I love it when I have to do an up-do its my favourite! :)

Good luck hun!

Have you had a look at any of the books by Patrick Cameron?

He has step by step instructions with pictures of some stunning updo's. I am sure you would be able to find them in the library

Hope this helps
Emma

if you can get a clip in pony tail matching your own hair colour this would help greatly....if its for a one off, then claires do these very things....brush all your hair to the lower side and use a hair band to secure you can then use a bun ring before or if the ponytail is thick enough then with the pony tail attach either using kirby grips of the clip it comes with and wrap it around itself in a non uniform way and secure with kirby grips..
also have a look on ebay there are many clip in buns on there you could use
bun items - Get great deals on Hair Care Styling Tools, Bath Body items on eBay UK!

Hi, I use Balmain Elegance pieces for my updo's and they are fab. Balmain also do an in salon course to show you how to use the pices and its great. Did ours with Faye ( balmain educator) and she was brilliant.
