Hi,

Would really appreciate some help.
I am a professional beauty therapist. I have been doing eyelash extensions for the past 4 years.
I did an existing clients lashes yesterday and her eyelids are swollen this morning. They were itching her but have stopped after taking an antihistamine.
I'm not sure if this is a reaction to the glue or lashes? They aren't red and sore, just slightly swollen and itchy.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. X

It’s very tough to really say what exactly went wrong as there are many things that can do this. It might be silly asking this but are you sure it was only after you did lashes? Because sometimes I have seen clients in the salon I work have this issue due to many other reasons not because of eye lashes… but I am just saying maybe as it might just be due to lashes.

could it be hay fever?

Most likely a reaction to the glue but you would need to patch test her with the glue next time at least 48 hours beforehand to check for any reaction before carrying out the service.

You can become to allergic to chemicals at any time, even if you've used them without incident for years.
