Hello, In planing to open my first beauty salon, but I'm not sure which facial product to use. I used to work with Dr.Schrammeck, but I don't really like them, also with Nimue, but there are not very popular. Any advice?
Thank you

I opened my business about a year ago and had the same problem, there are so many brands out there all in different price ranges. I had lots of samples sent me to try and I picked 'Eve Taylor' in the end. I'm so pleased with the products and my clients love them too and they are a good price

Thanks for your reply, actually I was thinking of Eve Taylor but I wasn't sure how good are the products. What about Dermalogica, are there really good? I checked they have very expensive start up package :(
How much it the starting package for Eve Taylor?

Dermalogica are by no means a good brand as i dont think they work (personal opinion). However, they are widely known and do sell! My favourite facial brand is MD Formulations. You may not have heard of them as they like to keep themselves to themselves, but they are the professional facial product line of BareMinerals and i cannot fault their products. I used to have awful acne and now my face is as clear as a summer's sky! I will never use anything else. However, if your clients have not heard of them then how will you sell it? I would always suggest having 2 brands for clients to choose from. i.e. more of a "bog standard" cheaper facial for those who want cheap and more of a luxury brand facial for those who want to indulge. Hope everything works out for you xx

Dermalogica has mastered the marketing and brand awareness side they basically flooded the South African market and my friend is rep and if u knew the cost price and the actual mark up you would die ! Ur not paying high prices bcoz they good ur paying high prices to give themselves massive bonus every 3 months that I would warn in a year!

Sans souis is a German product I use and it's great.
Environ also excellent and sells very well.
Matis is In My options to die for like the ultimate for myself personally I love them!
Mario badescu is USA based but also excellent I use them and their results are fabulous for acne teenagers etc

You must do ur research ur area ur client base ur market , ur client's
budget erc all this play a role in deciding

I had dermalogica rep out the start up price is crazy!

So I went for crystal clear and love it and so do all my clients they have great start up packages to 😃

The opening order is just £200 plus VAT and shipping.
If you'd like more info drop me a pm.

Allaboutyou363, can you tell me how much does it coast the starting package of Eve Taylor?

I trained with Eve Taylor.. Lovely products to work with, smell beautiful and good results! X

Please correct me if im wrong but i thought md formulations is no more? I still havent found a brand i truly like yet but i am with a previous poster on drrmalogica. I cant stand them to me its over priced over rated c**p and no better then what you get on the high street. They also provide to anyone and everyone so no exclusivity etc. I avoid them like the plague to the point where i avoid going to salons that use dermalogica because its just another unoriginal generic salon (personal opinion here) and i always like to try something new.

I do like the glo therapuetics facials and loved their training and products as they are so effective. I would also recommend that you offer two facial brands thst compliment each other. Make one results driven and the other more pampering but keep them on a equal price level otherwise you are lowring the value of your service sith one being being cheaper then the other. By all means have a third ultra luxurious range but set a minimum price level for both brands first and never make one cheaper then the other x

Don't, I only just found out they are discontinuing the brand - to say I am devastated is an understatement!!! I have used them for the past 4 years and have had excellent results, I have never been happier with my skin and it's given me so much confidence. I use their continuous renewal complex and I found a cream with similar ingredients from Skin Doctors, lets just hope it can live up to MD! :( x

I distribute a range of highly effective facial products called Skin For Life Pure Science, all our clients are happy with the performance. We don't have a minimum order value, so you can order as you need. Training is also available. PM me if you'd like Samples or further info. All the best with your new business - there's so many brands out there!

Skin for life ? I just googled your web page and it doesn't give the magic ingredient it explains in very basic also as is people are thick basic skin care throwing big words around without actually giving any answers?!
Just saying.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion. Our personal page, TC Beauty is under construction, so admit very basic - however Skin For Life provide very in depth info about the ingredients and protocols for all the products - Not everything is on the website as it would all be too much. Anyone interested in the products are welcome to Skin Care Manual, samples etc. It hasn't been a problem thus far.

Also - our ingredients are botanical, not magic.

Thanks I am a bit of a google nerd lol

Well that is a good way to be. Best thing about the internet is it does help a lots of brands that don't have the huge marketing budgets/pr departments to find people who just want to use quality products, that get results, and have good customer service :) Its best to look around till you're 100% sure, and not be tied into anything that makes it difficult for you to change down the line.

That's the best thing about Salon Geek too - being able to get others first hand experiences with different products/courses/client problems etc...

Look at Jan Marini. Similar to MD, but imo better!

Hi miss M_beauty, I hope you don't mind me popping a quick message on here but I'd love to chat with you about two of the skincare brands I represent!

I'm a Dermalogica stockist and I must say if was the best thing I've ever done for my business, my retail has tripled since October, and the training they offer is the best I've experienced, I have learnt so much on the live training & specialist training (very in depth) about the skin. It is expensive but worth every penny, it's a professional brand and does work - those who say it doesn't work I can only assume have been prescribed the wrong products? The skin treatments are fabulous as the are prescriptive - so each treatment is different. But yes like every other skin company they do not give you exclusivity to your area, but I haven't in 18 years found a brand that has! I also use the Susan Molyneux brands renu (anti aging) Vitru (ment) & Monu - all very nice more holistic skin care - they have some great opening offers also. I've worked with Elemis, also very nice & good opening orders, eve Taylor are ok with cheap opening orders, great as a starter. I had crystal clear rep come in to view their Skincare ranges & I did like it as there is no min opening order, I also has environ in but I personally found the products the rep left me gave me very bad breakouts (I don't normally have) but I put this down to the high vit A content, and I didn't like the peppery smell xx

Eve Taylor are great, I have worked with many top end skin brands...Clarins, Elemis, E'spa, Darphin, Guinot. They are all great skincare products in their own right but the start up costs for someone starting up on their own are very high. I found Eve Taylor a skincare company that produces effective products that work and give great results. Eve Taylor have no minimum order or start up cost. They have a couple of packages available and also a mobile therapist package but you can tailor it to suit your individual needs. Give them a call or look at their website for more information.
