Basically my salon is on a site of small shops.
There's my beauty salon (Landlord 1)
Then there are:
A hairdressers (Landlord 2)
Dentist (Landlord 2)
Flat (Lamdlord 2)
Empty unit (Landlord 2)
Landlord two has decided he wants to sell all his properties and has currently put his units up for sale with one unit empty, hairdressers have 1 year lease left and dentist have 75 yes! 75 years left on lease. The flat a relative lives in which I believe is also very low rent. Basically he is not making any money and wants to sell the site... So the plan from what I can gather is he is hoping to get a property developer on side to take it in and buy them all out.
MY CONCERN!
I have just under 3 years left on my lease, my business is good and my trade in one word booming! Today I got a phone call from the dentist owner to ask for my landlords number as they wish to speak to him. (Basically their Landlord has not got the balls to ask for it themselves because I had a go at him about an issue he very wrongly accused me of a few months ago - but that is a different story ).
I said I don't have it on me but will phone them tomorrow with it. I think they want to get Intouch with my Landlord to buy the unit or get the property developer to buy him out too. I phoned my landlord and he has reassured me that no person would take it on especially with the 75 year lease that needs paying off and redundancies etc etc it will cost a fortune... For now I know there's not much I can really do but is there any way I can be prepared for being told to leave? I am in my rights and have a contract for three years still but I just don't really know what options I may have - if any?
In simple terms I just don't want to be stung, my business is doing fab I am always busy and have a fab regular clientele I am not going to give that up without a fight! I feel like the other tenants and Landlord are constantly talking, constantly in the picture and something is going to hit me hard. Today is the first time my landlord has been brought into the situation and been asked to be spoken too.
Just so confused right now.
