Hi there
I dont understand how a person is expected to do an assignment when they havent had hands on training? Im not sure how the home courses work, dont they give you dvds or something visual to see? have a look in youtube there are many on there. One thing tutors need to do is realise that in a classroom or from home, you are there to learn these things before you do an assignment x

the only hands on or visual training i get is when i do a practical training day but that isnt until the end of my course. it would help if they sent dvds to show how things were done so when answering questions there is a little knowledge. x

I would have the client laying flat with their leg bent. I break the legs down into sections so I'm always taking the hairs off in the right direction. I personally always start with the leg furthest away, do a section of about 10cms above the knee all around. Then I do the bit on the outside of the leg in small sections (normally grows downwards but you must check as each client is so different). Then I get the client to put their leg in a 'four' position (a bit like a frog leg but with only one) and again wax in small sections. I then will get the client to put their leg flat and wax the front of the leg where I haven't waxed in the other areas. Finally I get the client to pull their knee towards them. This pulls the skin around the bottom really tight so waxing is easy and relatively pain free. The very last thing I do is get the client to turn over and wax the little hair that is left at the back!!

I hope this helps. Remember that everyone does it so differently so they might have other tips and postions to give you. Waxing queen is particularly useful xx

thank you i can now submit an answer for my question. x

It must really get confusing sometimes. I go to college 2 days a week and it helps me as if i dont know or understand something I can ask without wondering for ages. At least on here there are some good professionals who have and are doing it. The only trouble is you dont know if the course wishes you to do it a certain way. Im starting my waxing unit next week I will ask my tutor for you ;) x

aww thank you thats sweet at least i will be able to give a few different ways of doing it and then hopefully one of them will be the one they are after. x
