Today I did my regular care home with around 6 sets, I've been doing this for 4 months.

Before I did this another lady applied for it, she was here today ( she does only 1 of the ladies ).

The hairdresser was washing clients hair, then blow-dried in bathroom! Had long extension lead trailing across hallway, then asked me where I do mine, I said not in a dangerous place like this. I like to be professional and she wasn't even wearing a uniform.

Sorry rant over, hehe x

Must say i don't wear a uniform. I think in hairdressing it is nice to be an individual with style ;)

To be honest, the way I've read it it does come across quite rude. She might have known she was doing it in an inappropriate place and wanted your advice of a better place to do it.
You could have been alot more professional by helping her and suggesting a better place. X

I don't really get colour on just like wear and tear more because I wear them for work :o but at the same time I hate the tunics n stuff so I'm just in a no win dilemma haha x

I think it was right to point out this was dangerous practice.

I only wear a uniform due to not wanting to ruin my clothes, I sometimes get it over me lol. Thing is she has been qualified a lot longer then me and older and wiser x

I think your comment to her was reasonable in this instance. It was a care home after all, and it's likely that some of the residents have poor eyesight and less mobility, so more prone to tripping up. If she was unsure where to work safely, surely she should have asked whoever is in charge of the home before beginning the service? Basic common sense stuff really.

I do totally agree that she needed to be told that she was working in a dangerous place.
But I just think it would have been more helpful to suggest another place to work or who to ask.
But then again she should have enough common sense to do that herself. ;)
X

you cant blow dry hair in a bathroom !! not in england anyway , lol was the lead on a rcd ?
the woman must be plain stupid , sorry but really i cant get over any hairdresser even attempting this ..
i still cant cope with having ;plug sockets in the bathroom (live in canada now ) it makes me freak out and i dont like using em but at least here they are only 110 v , lol
