hi im thinking of changing my method of hair extensions just now i do micro loop and sew in weave but banted to add pre bonded so before i look at courses im just looking for advice iv searched previous threads but couldnt find much so these are my questions

what is the difference between u tip and stick tip i know its the shape of them i know what they look like and i know the u tip you can roll so does that mean stick tip is for micro etc ?

if i use u tip and do extensions what would happen if someone wanted the extensions reused how could you do this with the u tip when its been used?

do they damage your hair as this is what has put me off in past as i know its not glue as such but thats what clients feel like they are ?

any answers i would be most greatful to anyone xx

Hi Inr,

I know this won't be what you want to hear, but why do you want to go back to stick and u tips when you've been using the micro loop?? i've found that the women i've done prefer the fact that no glue or proteins are going to be used with the micro loop... in answer to your question, i wouldn't reuse these stick in methods - again, a reason why i'd stick to the micro loop.

sorry xx

hiya i know i did think about this but the reason is iv seen a lot of girls having them and iv heard they last a bit longer than the micro loop dont know if thats the case but in my area a lot of people havent heard of micro loop and they look confused when i say the sew in weave lol thats how i thought maybe go back to the usual most heard of extensions you know what clients are like sometimes they dont like things that are new lol so i thought well at least i can offer them pre bonded instead of not being able to offer xxx

I use micro loop now and love them - I have done all methods over the pat 7 years and now have 95% of all my clients on micro loops with great results!

Right...here we go with some points I think you'll find useful.
Pre-bonds, using nail tips or U-tips, (same thing, diff name)are tipped with glue. As far as I know it is always keratin glue. I don't know what you've been told about it not being glue but it definitely is.
They cannot be re-used unless you have them re-tipped. Not worth it. Or unless you are trained in fusion and have the equipment for that then you can re-glue them that way.
Nail tips or U-tips can be melted and re-rolled easily to make stick tips, by the way.
Stick tips are for micro-rings as you say.
The benefit of doing both is that some clients' hair is not suitable for micro-rings, either because of colour issues or because it is too fine. So if you don't have a glue option then eithre you turn clients away or you do not do the correct fitting for them and they have a poorer result. Micro-rings show more through fine hair than pre-bonds and I often do a combination fitting...micro-rings mostly but top row in fusion. Pre-bonds would do, I just prefer fusion.
Then also you can get your micro-rings to stay in longer if you have the right pliers and the right application methods. My last 3 clients had only lost 1 and 2 bonds each at the time of top up so we cancelled their top up as nothing else needed attention.
I can advise you on how to make your micros stay in better but it is easier by phone.
Haven't really time to type it all out here unfortunately.

I think it is an excellent idea to train in pre-bonds too but also am happy to help you make your micros work better.

I also am a trainer and you could look at my courses. Check out my site.
