Heya
I'd like to get faster! I know some of you are super quick so I want to pick your brains.
How do I speed up prep and cuticle work? Many of my clients are older and have very thickened overgrown cuticles. I use remover but it still takes too long. What's the best way to clean the nail of all skin quickly and cleanly?
I feel like I'm too meticulous and obsess over tiny things which look bad to me which wastes time!
Then how can I speed up painting? My painting is good but after I've painted each nail I often have to go over the nail again to get missed bits and corners perfect as so many of my clients have very ridged or bumpy nails so don't paint smoothly. How do you deal with these uneven nails? Also painting very short or bitten nails and not getting it on the skin which takes up more time removing it?
My clients are happy but I often overrun. Many want rockstar nails and I feel like I'm slow at that too!
Just any hints on tips on getting just as good but faster gel polished nails!
Thanks [emoji4]

Ok, here goes. Do you have cuticle away by cnd? I apply this firstly to each nail and spread every over entire nail with an orange stick, while that is doing its thing I file, by the end of filing it's time to remove the cuticle which is easier now as the cuticle away has worked it's magic. While removing the cuticle evaluate the condition of the nail as you go, ie do I need to snip hang nails, buff out the nail lightly and so on. I buff anyway, very lightly with a 18 grit buffer per gelish instructions (didn't used to but find gives a better even base for the polish). See the 5 step polish guide by Liverpool lashes on here that should really help too. I tried dry removal of cuticle the other day just to see time difference, nightmare.

I don't have cuticle away no. Does it work much better? I have skin truth cuticle remover I believe, it's whatever I'm provided with at work.
I do try to 5 step polish method but end up having to go over again as so many of my clients have deeply ridged and bumpy nails. I don't want to apply too thickly!

Y you could try gelish structure gel firstly to give an even base or cnd brisa smoothing gel, this should smooth over deep ridges and even out bumps

That is an idea thank you. Can't do that at work as its not provided but it's useful for future.

It takes me an hour to do a full gel manicure. The cuticle work is meticulous but in the end it pays off. I feel like your clients will appreciate all the fuss to make their nails looks perfect. I work from home and I like to take my time to give as much work as the client needs. I use sparitual cuticle removal, works very well. I also file one hand apply remover and the file the next.

I am a home worker as well as mobile. It takes me an hour too but my clients say their nails are much healthier than when they used to go to 'fast' nail salons so say the extra time I take is worth it

I don't work from home. I work for a company so need to get faster! I would like to be able to take time to make them perfect but they want fast.
