Tips on styling hair??

Hi all
Was just wondering if any of u hairdressers could give me any tips on styling my side fringe? It always just looks clumped to the side and not very nice. I want it to sweep over more nicely? If I put the straightners on it, it just looks greasy, real straight and sticks out?

Dry it with a round brush to lift it off the face then a small amount of backcombing underneath to hold the shape.
