Toner advice

Hi i am a qualified hairdresser but havent done much for the oast 10 years so im atad out oh touch. My friend decided to colour her hair herself and asked me to highlight it back blonde. Its around a 5.0 now and wants it highligted blonde , so bleach with 12% and if i need a toner , what do i use?

I wouldn’t use 12% with bleach, bleach and 6% and then your toner is based on however the hair lifts but probably wouldn’t be any higher than a level 8 toner. Going back to blonde should be a slow process

Does the friend actually want to go blonde all over or just a few blonde highlights?

If you want to get rid of the brown, you’d be much better off using a colour reducer to remove the artificial colour because it doesn’t cause damage and then you can add highlights and tone depending on what she wants as a final result. If done properly, you can get to a beautiful blonde within a couple of hours.

Please don’t use bleach & 12%. All you will do is blow the cuticle and dry out the hair.
