Hey everyone!

I am looking for some advice on toning my hair. At the minute it is dark brown and copper ombré. I want to take some of the brassiness out of the copper and was wondering if it would be ok to mix the p01 with 40vol? It's just I used both 10 and 20vol in the past and they didn't make much of a difference! I'm just not sure what effect 40vol would have on my hair and would love some advice so I don't end up with a hair disaster!! Thanks in advance :D

Errr! No please see a hairdresser to get your hair fixed.

Back away from the colour! You're better off going to a professional-it might be pricy but in the long run you'll save yourself a ton, cause if you keep messing with colours at home you'll ruin it & have no choice but to go to a professional to get a colour correction done! :) x

My hair doesn't need fixed, I'm just looking to refresh it at home and get rid of build up/brassiness. I though a higher volume toner mixed with the p01 would have a more noticeable effect on my hair than I've had previously with the 10 & 20 vol.

Go ask your hairdresser on the best advice for keeping your colour fresh between appointments. She will prob have products she can retail to you.

P01 is totally the wrong level colour to use on your hair, using a stronger developer will not make the effects anymore noticable (infact it will deposit less tone). It will however make your hair more porous, which is one on the main causes of colour fade.

If you want a subtle tone, some blue based shampoos will help (loreal serie expert silver shampoo) other wise you would need to get your colourist to refresh the toner.

Thanks for the advice! I'll admit I know nothing about professional hair colour, I just bought the p01 on the advice of a hairdresser! I'll skip the toner and just use the silverising shampoo I have!
