I am 44 and always wanted to be a hairdresser. Am I too old to follow this dream? Would / has anyone ever taken on an older trainee? Thanks

You're not too old to do this training at all.

There are lots of geeks on this site who were more mature when they embarked on a change of career - I am one of them lol.

It would seem from previous threads and posts on here that finding a job after qualifying when older is a little more difficult.

The option for these ladies is often to go mobile or work from home.

If you really want to do it then you should my lovely.

Go for it, if it's what you really want to do. Age needn't be a barrier, but you will need what anyone would need; tenacity and stamina.
I was a REALLY  old career switcher, to beauty, and I love it.
Good luck!

Thanks both of you for your hemp. Seriously thinking about it
