Hi im new to the site hope I have posted in the right place.
Im looking to train as a spa therapist I currently have an NVQ level 1 Beauty Therapy, I have been researching online to do a fast track course , I have just received funding for VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy which includes aromatherapy , stone massage , indian head do you think this is the right course for me?and will able me to gain employment ?It is home based and 10 days intensive training over 9 months .
I was considering doing an NVQ level 2 Beauty but most of these seem to based over a year at college.
It seems that employers are looking for NVQ level 2 and 3 and I don't want to be wasting my time doing a course that isn't right
It is home based and 10 days intensive training .

Check to see if you need a vtct level 2 qual before doing level 3.
I built my massage skills doing itec short courses. Each course was 1 or 2 weeks full time, with course work and written practical exams but that was 20years ago!
The massage course was excellent , but the aromatherapy and sportstherapy courses I did later weren't as good. ( different college). You will have to travel and do your research to make sure you get a good course.

You do normally need to have completed a level 2 qualification before continuing onto Level 3. The massage route would compliment spa treatments providing holistic treatments which can be easily performed at home without a large outlay. except for a good stone set. I would recommend completing a level 2 qualification first. Most employers like therapists to have both quals.
