IM REALLY SORRY IF THIS IS ALREADY TALKED ABOUT ON HERE SOMEWHERE, IM SURE IT IS. I HAVE SEARCHED, BUT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF ANYONE CAN RECOMMEND TRAINING DVDS AND OR BOOKS FOR THE 4 BASIC CUTS. I AM 4 MONTHS INTO MY LEVEL 2 AND AM NOW EXPECTED TO WORK ON CLIENTS, WHICH I AM DREADING. THE ONLY PERSONS HAIR I HAVE CUT IS MY DAUGHTERS. I WANT TO PRACTICE AS MUCH AS I CAN IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS AS THAT IS WHEN I HAVE TO GO IN THE COLLEGE SALON AND DO REAL LIVE PEOPLE.:cry:
I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIDENCE AT ALL, ALL THE OTHER GIRLS ON MY COURSE SEEM TO HAVE A REALLY CAREFREE ATTITUDE, THAT, "IM TRAINING SO IF IT GOES WRONG WHAT CAN THEY SAY" I DONT HAVE THIS SAME VIEW AS MY COLLEAGUES, SO I AM ACTUALLY LOSING SLEEP AND WEIGHT OVER THIS. PANICKING THAT I MAY NEVER ACTUALLY GET ANY MORE ASSESSMENTS DONE DUE TO THIS LACK OF CONFIDENCE. I KNOW I NEED TO JUST JUMP IN TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORNS BUT NOT SURE I CAN. OH MY GOD, SO SORRY FOR GOING ON, DIDNT EVEN POST ABOUT THIS. PLEASE ANY ADVICE OR WORDS OF WISDOM

I would stick to the level 2 course books and the way your tutor has taught you to cut your basic styles and other techniques.

studying other books or training DVD's could just confuse you at this early stage as there are many'different ways to skin a cat' as the saying goes, and different training schools/academies use different methods to get to the same end.

If you are really freaked out about this then ask for some 1-2-1 time with your tutor and talk it through. When I first did this I took my own models in to start with and it helped a lot. ( also block work at home helps a lot ) Don't forget your tutor is there to teach you and take you through each step of your course including helping to build your confidence.:) if your not sure then just explain to your model you need to ask your tutor and they will wait.

you may well find you are building this up to be a lot more of a bigger issue than it really is . Models who book into in college environments know you are training they should not be expecting a fifty pound haircut with all the frills they would have booked somewhere else for that .

Try to start off with a friendly smile and a hello have you had a good day and it will flow from there if at any point your not sure , stop and ask ..
