Ive been using numerous different blonde box colours to try and get my medium /dark brown hair as light as my fairly light blonde hair with no luck as they just go dark blonde / yellow. Would using a bleach bath on my roots prior to box dye help this?

My hair is in really good condition, I condition and deep condition and use heat products probably once a month with heat defense.

I'm not in a position to get my hair done professionally so any tips would be really great

Thanks

Sorry this site is for professionals. The only advice we can give you is to not colour your own hair and seek a professional. Colouring your own hair can result in something worse than you started out with.

I'm really sick of the diy bleach bath craze.

I don't even do bleach bath on clients anymore! They just do it on themselves instead😂😂😂 joke, i really hate bleach baths now.

I feel like this is what my clients thought process used to be. "I know I will strip it, if it goes wrong, Julie will always fix it" yay me *eyeroll*

To the OP please don't try bleaching your roots yourself, it can make your scalp sore and damage your hair with unpleasant colour results. Save the money you would usually use on box dyes and go to a professional. Or your local training college, they have client sessions where they are supervised and not only is it much cheaper, you are helping some one learn plus you do get great safe results x

Irrespective of the original poster being a non professional, please may I post a reminder to reply to others how you would like them to reply to you and if there's nothing nice to say, then please don't say anything at all.

Thanks.
