Hiya everybody!

After a little bit of advice.
I passed my NVQ unit 19 in July, I haven't yet received my certificate. I emailed the college who taught me and my tutor was short with me and said I will be informed when it is in.
I am concerned that they have sent it to the wrong address as I did move house but informed my tutor. Is there anyone else I can phone? Is there a centreal NVQ place? Any ideas?
I can't believe it's taken 4 months but maybe the tutor is right and it has. All my other friends managed to get theirs?

Also - I want to order from my local NSI today - Has anyone used Misa nail varnish? If so, I am looking for french manicure colours to try. Has anyone got any ideas or names of colours that look good?

Thanks everyone,

Sam XXX

Hi Sammie
Probably need to know who the tutor was and if she registered you through a Satellite Assessment Centre or some other way. If you have a workbook that has J.Jefford copyright on bottom of each page, then you can either find out who your local SAC is and go via them or if you remember who your assessor was, they are more than likely to be SAC registered. If not, you may have to approach City and Guilds direct, assuming they are the awarding body. Check your friends certificates and see who signed them and who they were awarded by. There are a couple more avenues we can look at to track it down once weve got a bid more info.

Hope this helps.

Most colleges have an exams co ordinator trying contact the colege where you trained and ask to speak to the person who deals with dishing out the certificates she wi have a record of you and where it went to.

Did you do it with VTCT, that's who I did my NVQ with, you could try and contact them via email they usually answer all your questions.
Go to:

Hi Sam

I completed my Wax depilation course in May and passed the exam in June and am STILL awaiting my certificate! I have contected the college several times(after receiving confirmation that I had passed the exam) and finally had a letter from them saying thay they have ave spoken to the VTCT exam board and they were appoximately 5/6 weeks behind with issuing certificates, that was on the 2nd October, still waiting.....

If yours was with VTCT then this may be the reason if not I can't help sorry!!

I completed my VCTC at the end of April, and still have recieved no certificate. When I contacted them they said there was a huge backlog. Doesn't really help me much as all of my student wholesale cards have now expired, and I cant get a new one without my certificate!!

It's a nightmare isn't it!

Just received a reply from VTCT and they said my certificate has not yet been issued, and to chase it up with the 'Exams department' at my training centre. I phoned my training centre and they said they would inform me when it arrived. They wouldn't tell me anything else.
I don't know if that means my centre haven't applied for it or I they just haven't done it!! Glad to know I'm not the only one!

the same thing happened with my nvq level 2 beauty therapy, it turned out that the examinations department hadnt even requested it from vtct, it eventually arrived 4 months before my level 3 cerificate, my diploma in epilation cerificate which i completed in july 2000, has a date of december 2002. My advice is chase it up , go above your tutors head and speak to the head of the department, thats how i got mine sorted.

mine took nine months to arrive :irked:

The next step you need to take now is to contact the manager who is in charge in making sure that all students needs are met and that the college is doing what its supposed to be doing. Because I had a situation similar to this and I contacted the manager of our college and within a week I got my certificate sorted out and sent.
Put forward to them that there wasting your time and that you need the certifcate for other purposes and tell them that because you have no certificate of proof, you losing money and clients, this is what I said.

Hi Sam

I just passed my NVQ unit 19 in June this year and only recieved my certificate about 2 weeks ago! I expected it to come from via the college but came to my home address, so I'd keep an eye out incase it does go to your old address. Also, the college had allocated a specific day to come along and pick their course work etc up....this was after we'd all recieved our NVQ certificates. It is a pain waiting..... ask the college to write you a letter stating you have passed and maybe your supplier will accept this as proof etc...That's what I did and my supplier was happy to extend my student trade card until I got my certificate.

Hopefully it'll arrive soon though!
