hi im looking for some advice, can someone, who hasn’t been on a acrylic nail course and does not have a nail certificate work in a salon actually doing acrylic nails?

Yes, there are no legal requirements in the UK. Some local councils (but not all) are starting to require certain levels of qualifications but it doesn't seem to be hugely enforced that I've seen.

They won’t be insured

That’s what I was going to say too. Sadly in the UK it’s perfectly legal to run a business and perform treatments on the paying public however they wouldn’t be able to get any public liability insurance. In the event that a claim is made against them, (more likely if untrained) then they will have A LOT to lose.

Scary thought that someone with less training than me might have worked on my nails in the past. Unfortunately I can probably imagine this occurring more often than not in the little nail shops on some high streets!
