. . .yes that is what we say on the website, and the madness of the industry is that it is true....god know's we don't think its a good idea not to be qualified or insured though - far far from it!

Theres a girl who used to work for me unqualified but I had trained her and she was covered under my insurance. However she went off to work on her own and got her own place and is working on the general public still unqualified and I have no idea how she is insured to do this.

My mum works with me and shes in training and she is covered again under my insurance.

Its a proper grey area. With tinting though its soooo dangerous and probably one of those treatments that you are more than likely to get sued over! At least if you are qualified its better than not being. You can do courses though in just brow & lash tinting and shaping.

Hey Cath, bet your sorry you asked LOL. I know you`ve said you wont be doing it now anyway but think about this, you could do the course (eye treatments) in 6-8 wks as an evening class. its one day a week and only a couple of hours. Off the top of my head its about 45 quid. Since you already know what your doin it`ll be a breeze

Hi Cath
I've done 2 courses covering tinting & would say that even if you know how to do it I wouldn't as being qualified means you have learnt all the contraindications & how to do a patch test, ingredients, salon standard (how to use the products / time frames etc) but also what to do if something was to go wrong!

I would say this is really something you should be fully qualified in before doing it on the public.

I had a client that had an allergic reaction to the tint. (Luckily I had done a patch test so the reaction was behind her ear) It came up in a massive lump & was red, itchy & flaking.
Can you imagine if that had been on her face / eyes!

I think you can do individual courses at some schools. although again check the qualifications are recognised by local salons (even if you don't plan to work in one! nothing worse than paying out for a course to find your qualification isn't recognised)

Hope this helps
Carla
