Im looking for some advice in what can only be called a moment of madness I used wella 12.11 on a cliet yesterday (full head tint) and her hair surprise surprise has went completely silvery/grey.

I dont know what I was thinking but had never used it before always using 12.1 and it never lifted the red tones well enough so thought this might do the trick.

I then tried a 10.0 and 9.03 to try and lift it a bit but it never budged at all.

ANy advice on what I should do to lift it back to a blonde. I don't want to try something else that doesn't work so need to get it right this time.

Do I just go with a 10.3 to lift the ash or does anyone else have any other advice? Desperate as going to the clients house in a couple of hours :(( and now lost all confidence in my own advice!!!

A quick bleach bath should remove the excess ash tones.

You can tone warm down with ash, but once it is deposited you cannot warm ash up.The saturation level is much weaker in warm tones,You have to remove it first, and go back to where you started. Use a weak bleach bath or color eraser for just a moment or two, recondition and start over.

Ok don't panic, we have all made mistakes on here and if we haven't then we are not normal, just pop some warmer shades in by looking at your colour wheel. Im in a massive family and we are all hairdressers and we could tell you some stories. Just put it down to experience.
