USA/Canada to UK delivery import charges

Hi ladies, I think I am way too excited for all these black friday sales! I have my eye on some products from dailycharme.com and uglyducklingnails.com and they delivar to U.K. However, I am not sure what import charges I may face when they arrive. Has anyone ordered from there to UK and how much additional charges did you have?
I plan on buying glitters, crystals, brushes stuff like that which are probably not going to be heavy, but I do not know how the import duty and tax are calculated. Any previous experience story with ordering across seas will be greatly appreciated )

Ive ordered makeup items to here from the states, what will kill you is the £8 fee they put on top! If it’s a value over £20 it’s VAT @ 20% the £8 fee. (So for a £30 order yourll pay £6 customs and the £8 fee so £14 in all)
