Hi

I've recently started a gel nail technician course at college. We are using the Calgel system which comes with resin to apply the tips.

Our tutor said if you apply tips with glue it can melt the tip but resin doesn't. Is that rhe only benefit of using resin?

Does it matter what branf of resin is used?

If it doesn't have you any ideas of a good brand to use?

Thank you xx

I'm not sure. This is news to me and I, too, trained with Calgel years ago but was never told this.

Would be very interested to hear more x

Hey

yes I'm not sure how true it is. It could just be to get us to buy resin from calgel as they don't sell glue.

Any impartial advice I would be greatful for. As I need to purchase some but dont feel comfortable buyin calgel resin just for the sake of the brand name x

1000's of techs use nail glue and no melting of tips I am sure as they wouldn't use it if it did that.
Resin is thicker than nail glue generally. I have used both no probs with either.
Ask her if Calgel sell nail glue, if they don't I would guess that is her reason, (which I think is not fair to say), as they are promoting that brand and not others, so that trainer is obviously brand bias with that course.
You can use any professional nail glue to stick tips on.
