Use of stylist pictures

Hi
I’m going to be employing a new stylist
She works at another salon at the minute which is at the other side of town from where we are.
I just want to know if I am allowed to use pictures of clients hairs that was taken in the salon but done by the stylist to advertise her now working for me Or is this not allowed..

Who owns the copyright on photographs?
Under law, it is the photographer who will own copyright on any photos he/she has taken, with the following exceptions:

• If the photographer is an employee of the company the photos are taken for, or is an employee of a company instructed to take the photos, the photographer will be acting on behalf of his/her employer, and the company the photographer works for will own the copyright.
• If there is an agreement that assigns copyright to another party.

No, you cannot use the pictures that the stylist took whilst employed by another salon.

Any work that the hairdresser does whilst EMPLOYED belongs to the salon. The employee is not legally entitled to take pictures of the clients and use them without the express permission of the salon owner and the client. Salon owners need to ensure their staff understand the rules around data protection especially with regards to posting client images on social media.

To be honest I wouldn't ever want to use photos from another salon anyway.
One because I wouldn't want to upset another business close to us and two because it would look weird on my social media putting ohitos up of another salon
