hi i have quite a few clients who get highlights but want them bright blonde i use loreal and have used highlift but it doesnt go as bright so have been using bleach to lift it is there any other way of getting these highlights so light without bleach?? as i dont want to be using that on a regular basis whenever i do the bleached highlights the clients love them etc so i dont know what to do ??

If a client wants bright blonde then bleach is really the only option, unless they are quite light naturally then high lift can be okay..
just aslong as you use correct peroxide then it should be alright, keep the hair in nice condition..dont overlap and dont over process.
xox

hiya yeah the hairs are about base 4 and i tried before using high lift but it wasnt light enough im very careful with bleach and make sure i condition and use leave in conditioner on them and advise them that blonde hair is always more prone to be dry so make sure they look after it but i was just wondering what everyone else does the lightest tint shade i have is 900s which is extra light blonde and it still doesnt lift so will just stick with bleach thanks xx

dont be afraid of bleach, jus use it correctly and you will be fine x

hello scottydolly i know i just thought am i using this as a quick fix if you know what i mean i dont want to be the kind of hairdresser that just uses bleach on all highlights lol but i suppose as sarah says theres no other option than to use bleach as their hair is dark thanks for reasuring me that its not bad lol x

what about majimeche? I've only started using it recently, been a bit nervous of it before tbh! but i'm loving it now!

Tigi is the brightest bleach on the Market at the moment, it's a bit more pricier but is more potent specially on the darker hair

hiya the bleach im using the now is good and gets it exactly the colour they want but was looking for something thats not bleach

coops what is that exactly thanks xxx

Hi, I dont think using bleach is the easy option at all, it requires lots of skill to get it right. just be carefull not to over lap or over or under process. Majimeche is really good too but it probably wont lift from a level 4 to a bright clean blonde. 900s will probably throw off quite brassy tones on that level too. I'd stick with the bleach. I use Indola dust free for 7 levels of lift. lush clean blonde x

Someone told me years ago it's like a cross between a high-lift and bleach, not sure if that's technically correct but it sits well with me.
It's an ammonia free high lighting cream, that lightens up to 5 levels in 15 minutes with heat, 35 minutes without.
I like using it for the ombre/paint-on technique as it forms a sort of crust so doesn't bleed and I love using 20vol & 30vol alternating foils to give differnet lifts for personalised high lights.

HTH x

oh that sounds good il have a look at that thanks xxx

Majimeche is great, but prob not enough for a base 4. Matrix colour Graphics is fab too - it's a bleach powder but you add the pigment in too and then use the correct promoter/developer which comes in 3 strengths. In my experience it is more gentle on the hair than bleach and is a great product if you are wary of bleach.

But I do love my bleach, I use it a lot with 3% for foil highlights and then 6% or 9% through the parting. As long as you dont over process it or overlap it, it's great - I love the clean colour it gets.

A lot of people (clients) are wary because of horror stories years ago, but tbh they were using 60 vol peroxide back then and whacking it all over

hi roxxi i know mind the 60 vol i only used 60 vol on gents who want it bright bright white xxx

Ive recently started usinh matrix colougraphics, and wont go back to anything else now, such a fresh, clean result, i particularly like the spearmint pigment, smells lovely, and gives a really nice "cream" blonde result : )
was well impressed with it

I love the mocha one for caramel tones on a darker base, and the red for golden blonde on say base 7. I haven't used it in a few years as I'm now mobile and a bit too pricey for me, I miss it!
