I would expect there to be a nail kit that comes with your course so I wouldn't spend anything until you start your course. Your training provider should send you details of what kit you to buy. They can usually get it at a lower cost than you could elsewhere.
When you are on a course with other students it is actually important that the whole class are using the same products and equipment otherwise it gets very confusing. Once you have mastered their brand and have qualified, you will be much more informed on what to look for in a brand, if you decide to change.
