Hi, why I am asking this is I have been sterilizing all my equipment with a UV sterilizer, this for me is good as I can sterilize everything. Hygiene is very important for me, as I do alot of pedicures which are more likely to have infections, I have heard about autoclave which is High pressure steaming, anyone tried this? Thanks!!!:suprised:

Hi Chana,

Steralisation is important for anyone who comes into contact with blood...
(which I do hope you don't...)

An autoclave is the best form of this - however it is extremely damaging to most of the tools and equipment we use due to the heat, pressure and moisture (you can generally only do it on high quality stainless impliments)

UV steralisation is still considered contraversial in effectiveness within medical circles.

Disinfection is the highest level of sanitaion a nail tech should need to reach. And this can be done easily with a hospital grade disinfectant applied after loose particles have been removed (ie with a brush)

Some disinfectants require soaking, others are designed to be sprayed on and left to dry.

Thanks for the reply, with think I will stick with UV for now then.
