Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'd like to ask a question about how to achieve grey hair...
Right now I'm about 50% white -naturally my hair is medium brown - and I've been using Illumina in a mixture of 7/31 and 5/34 and I'd like to go grey, but with dignity. :)

What would your advice be to get a result in between Affinage Onyx and Silver?

oh, and I've read your thoughts about not giving advice re colors, but I honestly live in a very rural area and the next professional hair-dresser who uses Affinage is 200km away - and I refuse to go with the semi-perm, practical, no frills haircuts and colors that are preferred here.

thank you!

Sorry, but you need a professional to do this.
I have done it, and it was quite an involved process by my hairdresser but it is worth it, it really could all go horribly wrong in the wrong hands.

Thank you, izzidoll, for your reply. Thing is, I really don't have a professional at hand - I just can't take a day off work once a month, drive 400km to have my hair done.

I get why you won't give any advice, though.

Think of it long term, I have had 3 professional colouring treatments now and I don't think I will need any more as my natural grey has now blended in so well with the grey tint. I do t expect to have obvious roots as my hair grows this time My next appointment should just be a cut!

huh. good point. I hadn't thought of that because I assumed that (as long as I have both white and brown hair) I had to continue the monthly coloring routine - otherwise I'm still left with a visible "border" in my hair.
