This might sound stupid but I've just started doing facials. On the course we used sponges to remove the product but I've seen that people use warm/hot towels aswell. Just wondered do you have to use a towel heater or do you just put them in warm water? X

Towel heaters are definitely prefable.. mitts tend to hold the heat a little better when properly warmed through. Salons direct sell mini portable versions for £65.00 x

That's great thanks! Will have a look on Salons Direct, do you use towel mitts then? Where can I get them? X

I use hot towels and mitts from a hot towel cabi and use these for most of my treatments including facial treatments. They are so much better than sponges. Jack

I use mitts from Majestic towels and hot water. I wring them out, and give them a shake to make sure they're not too hot. I have had ones from a towel warmer used on me, and found them uncomfortably hot as I'm quite sensitive! I'd start with mitts and bowl and see how you get on!

Yes they can be quite hot, I usually take them out of the warmer and shake them out a little so they cool a little before I use them.

I've always used & loved the feel of them when receiving treatments too ( I'd agree with jacks suggestion on supplier & tip to shake off a wee bit before applying to the skin - i feel for anyone whos been scalded by some wally who's not bothered to cool them off first?' :/ ) I brought mine from elemis ages ago but they're no better than those from salons direct. I've a hot towel cabinet but those little portible things look fab & seem to be good value.

They're also lovely to cleanse feet if your going to include a foot massage while face mask does its thing :)

Thank you all for your replies! Definitely going to purchase that one from Salons Direct! Another silly question but do you warm the mitts up when they are dry or damp?
I just thought they might have to be damp to remove product. X

I dampen all mine and sometimes I spritz them with a little chamomile tea before I place them in the cabinet.

Lol.. sadly not..

But only because Im busy enough doing male grooming treatments and mostly male waxing treatments and I have recently taken on another therapist and being London based means there are enough clients to keep us busy with male grooming treatments.

Although I do treatments for some of my girl friends and family etc..
