The first case that happened was quite a while ago.
I was super proud that my nails had gotten longer, about to the tips of my fingers. I decided to put gel on my nails to help strengthen them (they are so thin that when wet the bend with barely touching them).
The attached photo is what happened to my fingers a few days later.
My cuticles got super itchy, then these blisters started forming on my cuticles, sides of my finger and under the nails. The index finger on my right hand got REALLY bad... the blisters bled and scabbed over and just looked terrible!

It has happened AGAIN!
It has been about 6months since I have done anything with my nails because of what happened. My nephew was graduating, everyone looked so nice, so I decided to do my and my mothers nails. Just simple gel polish... 2 days later my fingertips began to itch and I prayed that it wasn't happening again but, then these tiny water blisters started forming. It is not nearly as bad as the first time though, and it only happened on 2 fingers...

Can someone please tell me what is going on?? Is it a reaction to the UV light? The gel?? First time I used IBD Clear Gel, second time was just UV polish from wal mart... sally hansen I believe.
I'm at a loss and quite depressed about it.

You have developed an allergic reaction to the product you are using. You cannot become allergic to UV light.

That's what I was affraid of. Should i try different brand? Or can the allergy be avoided by not having any skin contact?

And why would it only happen on 2 fingers?

Another brand won't make any difference.

Nearly a year ago you were warned on this site about the risks of doing your own nails without training. Unfortunately it looks like you chose to ignore the advice given by the professionals and you have caused yourself to have an allergic reaction to nail products due to over exposure to uncured product. Unfortunately this is probably permanent and irreversible. My only advice would be to see a GP or dermatologist.

The more times you use the gel products the worse your allergy will become and you could easily end up with breathing problems.
It has nothing to do with the product touching your skin so even being super careful with your application won't prevent your allergy worsening.

You need to abandon using any gel or acrylate based nail products on your fingers and stick to using basic nail varnish on future.
