Hello! Last thursday I went to get my bikini wax done. I don't really know what happened but the wax lady used a different type of wax. Usually she uses what I believe is cold wax because she applies it hot and then waits until it gets hard and then pulls the wax and the hair and thats that. I never had any problem with it and was satisfied with the results.
But this time she used the wax that she ussually applies on my legs, wich consist of hot wax with a kind of roll on applier thing and then uses the special cloth to remove both the wax and the hair. So it was a really painfull process this time:cry: and some o the wax got really stuck so she used like a razor thing to remove it.... the thing is at the end of it my skin was absolutely red and almost bleeding and really really sore.
I came home and have been applying pure aloe vera, since I have this wonderful plant in my garden, but it is still red and kind of sore. Also, this morning part of my skin was kind of peeling...
What should I do? Do I need to run to the doctor? Is my skin going to be fine? Will I get a scar out of this? Is that peeling like process ok? Please give me your guidance!! Thank you

You don't mention whether it was just a basic bikini wax or a brazilian wax .. I am hoping it is the former!!!

I'm concerned with the 'razor' part of your post, wax does not require intervention with any kind of tool ever.

It sounds like a burn to me and peeling would occur, it should heal ok but without seeing the extent of it its difficult to be sure. The aloe vera will take the heat out of the burn and soothe your skin. If it hasn't become more comfortable within the next 48 hours a trip to the doctor might be necessary just to be safe.

You should also call your therapist so she is aware and can advise you accordingly. She may ask you to go back in so she can take a look.

She doesn't seem to be skilled with the roller wax system on the bikini area and she should probably avoid this method in the future. I myself would never use a roller wax cartidge for the bikini or any small and delicate area. Roller waxing is for large areas, back, chest legs and arms.

I think you need to post up a picture to see for sure if it is a burn. Waxing the bikini area with any other method than hot wax can be a bit more traumatic and it can produce erythema, pin point bleeding and very rarely mild stripping of the skin if wax setting too high or skin not held taught.

On sing if you can some guy was getting his very hairy chest waxed using the hot wax, you could see the bleeding points on that and I was a bit disturbed that the therapist touched this area without gloves on straight away. I understand it helps soothe the area but it's not the most hygenic thing to do.

Keep an eye on it and get in touch with your therapist on Tuesday.
