Hey all! I have been doing waxing at tafe and our latest assignment is to research why lupus is a contraindication.

I have been stuck on this for 2 days now, I cant seem to find a definite answer. One place says no to any diseases, another says yes with doctors consent and another one says the medication could be a contraindication.

I am stuck because im not sure if it would be personal discretion (with doctors consent) or if its strictly no because of medication and possible aggravation. I haven't found anywhere that says specifically why you should/shouldn't wax if they do have lupus.

Pleeeeeeease help

Lupus is an over active auto immune deficiency syndrome which causes the body's natural defensive mechanism to attack its own healthy tissue. In the case of waxing, by causing external trauma to the skin, anti bodies may flock to the area in order to protect it, however in actual fact causing damage.

Hope this helps x
